Anyone Not Adding Value to Other People’s Life Is Worthless

“You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless” Matthew 5:13 (NLT)

Salt is use for sweetening food. Longman defines it as a natural white mineral that is added to food to make it taste better or preserve it.

Therefore if the bible refers to you a Christian as salt of the earth, it connotes that you are created to make the earth a better place or to help preserve the earth.

Be Glad When People Mock You Because You Are Serving God (Matthew 5:11-12)

“God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers. Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way” Matthew 5:11-12 (NLT)
Many people mock those serving God. I have severally heard people say things like, “This God you are serving isn’t it time He gives you money?” or things like, “E too sabi pray too much sef” in Pidgin English. It translates to, “He prays too much”

God Bless You If You are Poor and Serve Him

“God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for Him, for the kingdom of Heaven is theirs” Matthew 5:3 (NLT)

It is annoying when you are poor and you go to the same church with very rich people who don’t even serve God as much as you do and yet they have it all, they commit almost all of the sins in Bible and yet they are the best in the house of God.

Yes, it is true, it is annoying, but your reason for serving God in the first place is because He is your Maker, your Creator who made you the way you are, that you are not crippled. That you have eyes, ears, that gives you the body you are looking for that cloth to cover with, that made the clay and sand that are used for building that house that you wish to build. That made the iron and steel that is used for making that car you think you don’t have!

Jesus Christ is the True Shepherd

Longman Dictionary describes a shepherd as someone who leads or guide a group of people somewhere, making sure that they go where he wants them to go.

Therefore as Christians and children of God whose mission on earth is to make it to heaven our final abode, our shepherd or driver to that destination is therefore Jesus Christ.

In the Book of Matthew in chapter two verses six, it says, “And you, O Bethlehem in the land of Judah, are not least among the ruling cities of Judah, for a ruler will come from you who will be the shepherdfor my people.” (NLT)

Not Everyone That Celebrates With You Have Good Intentions

People are easily carried away when they are celebrating success of job promotion, purchase of a new car, building of a new house or the birth of a new baby.

But beware! It is not everyone that comes to you to say congratulation when you celebrate or mark a success that truly wishes you well.

Some people are there to see what they can use to bring down that success you are celebrating.

In this part of Africa it is usual for people when they have a new baby not to allow the baby come in contact with people, relatives, friends until they baby had gotten to a certain age when they believe that his/her destiny is not stolen away from birth.

When you see the Light you will be Filled with Joy

Have you ever been desperate for anything before?

Have you been in dire need of something that you couldn’t get for a very long time, like a child, money, house or job and for long you try but it didn’t come?

But one day you go for a test and the doctor say, “Congratulation, you are pregnant” or you receive a phone call or get an e-mail informing you that you have been given a job appointment!

You can imagine how joyous you will be on that day.

It’s like being in a dark room and suddenly your younger brother brings in a lamp that brightens the room!

Repentance is the Only Way You Can Saved

I have come across some Christians who think it doesn’t matter whatever they do as long as they go to church and they are Christians.
I have particularly had an encounter with a girl who told me to stop preaching Prophet Hosea’s message to prostitutes that the New Testament has freed everyone from sin.
But I tell you the truth, except if you are truly repentant you do not have the promises of God.
In Matthew Chapter Three verses Seven to Nine, John while baptizing the newly converts saw some Pharisees and addressed them thus:
